Seniors: if you are interested in taking Yearbook class next year, you can get an application in the Main Office or in Mr. Ambrose’s room, C114. You can collaborate with classmates to help personalize and design your yearbook. To apply, you must fill out an application and hand it in to Mr. Ambrose by Friday, May 1st.

Come support the Mustang Girls Softball Team at the 2nd annual Krystle Campbell Softball Tournament this weekend at Columbus Park. Opening ceremonies will take place on Saturday morning at 10:30am, followed by the first game at 11:00am with Medford playing Swampscott. All proceeds benefit the Krystle Campbell Scholarship Fund.

The Spring Coffee House is upon us! Auditions for this year’s Spring Coffee House are Tuesday, April 28th and Wednesday, April 29th. Auditions will take place in C201 after school each day at 2:30. You must audition to be a part of the event. Hope to see you there!

The MHS “We are All Immigrants” creative expressions contest is in full swing. Format guidelines and entry forms are now available for students who are ready to start submitting their work. There are many different formats you could use like music, video, writing, or visual art. The deadline is May 9th! Good luck and happy creating!

Reminder: cap and gowns will be sold outside of the Gym Cages May 6th and 7th during both lunches. The cost is $16.50 and an extra tassel is $3.

The Fashion Society will be selling cupcakes, cookies, and more baked goods in the Main Lobby after school TODAY.

There is a mandatory National Honors Society meeting TODAY – all must attend.

Registration

How to register online:

You will need to create an account for you and your family on the online registration site (see below). You will be asked to create a username and password and this will be how you sign up for all future activities.

How to register for multiple children for one program:

When you sign up, your family you will be prompted to add members to your account. You will add all of your family members who will or would want to participate in the summer program. When you click register for an activity, you click on one or more of your family members who would like to attend, then you continue. This feature allows you to register and to add to your check out cart.

Payment options:

To register online you must pay by credit card. For more payment options please call 781-393-2486.

Program Cancellations:

If an activity doesn’t not meet minimum enrollment the program will be cancelled. You will receive an email within 3 days of the close of registration. Registration period ends 1 week prior to the start of the class.

This is the last week to submit your best writing, artwork and creative expression for the MHS “we are all immigrants” contest. The guidelines and an entry form are in English, Foreign Language or Social Studies class, or in a folder right outside C315.

Attention juniors: if you plan on getting dismissed on Friday for the prom, you MUST have a dismissal slip signed by a parent or guardian by the end of school TOMORROW. You can pick up dismissal slips in Mrs. King’s office. There will be no dismissals earlier than 12:30 and no dismissals without a parent’s signature.

The Inside Out Project is a large scale art project centered around raising awareness about substance abuse. We will be taking photographic portraits and sending them to the Inside Out global initiative to get them blown up for a huge installation at our very own Medford High. If you want your photograph taken, come to a quick meeting
TOMORROW after school in room A205, or see Ms. Haji-Georgi.

There is a mandatory girls soccer meeting Monday at 2:30 in V222 for all girls interested in playing next year.

The Foreign Language Club will be hosting a Mexican Festival on May 20th from 12 to 2:18 at the front lobby. There will be music, food catered by Papagayo’s, dance and 2 Mexican mask makers giving presentations. It’s $2 to just see the show – and $12 for lunch and show. Reminder that Interact meets TODAY. We are preparing for the Leadership Award ceremony later this week and starting film production on the “Juice Box Bully” project. Looking forward to a full house!

There will be free pizza and refreshments to thank you for your participation. In addition, photo release forms are available in the Main Office or you can check in with Ms. Haji-Georgi in A205.

Reminder to Orchestra students – our year-end get-together is this Friday night, 6:30-8:00, in the Orchestra room.

All students registered to take AP Comparative Government with Ms. Daneu in the Fall should attend an informational meeting on Thursday in room C210 immediately after school. We will be voting on whether to travel to Mexico or London, so please be sure to attend.

The Indian Club is having a Henna Event Thursday after school. This is our last Henna Event of the year, so do not miss your chance to join the fun!

There will be a brief meeting of Student Council immediately after school in C115.

Attention students and faculty – if you are interested in taking part in the “Inside Out” project for the fight against substance abuse there will be a meeting TODAY after school. Reminder to orchestra students– our year-end get-together is this Friday night from 6:30-8:00 in the orchestra room.

All students registered to take AP Comparative Government with Ms. Daneu in the fall should attend an informational meeting TOMORROW in room C210 immediately after school. We will be voting on whether to travel to Mexico or London, so please be sure to attend.

The Indian Club is having a henna event TOMORROW after school. This is our last henna event of the year so do not miss your chance to join the fun!

Attention senior advisory teachers: over the next 10 days, the school nurses will be coming in to the senior homerooms to distribute student health records.

Due to changes for the MCAS testing Schedule the Foreign Language Club has changed the date for the Mexican Mask Makers Festival to the following Thursday, May 27th – at the same time. Please see Senora Lepore to purchase a ticket in room C103.

“E” Day

Attention seniors: if you ordered senior apparel and have not picked it up, please stop by the Main Office.

Did you transfer to MHS from another school or even another country? Would you like to help welcome new transfer students next year? New Kids on the Block will have their first meeting for anyone interested TODAY in Lecture Hall 2 during both lunches.

The Guidance Department still has $9,000 worth of scholarships. Come pick-up the Middlesex Federal Savings Bank, Rotary, and Medford Chamber of Commerce scholarship TODAY! All scholarships are due TOMORROW by 3:00!

Get ready, MHS – Earth Week is next week! Come Peg a Polluter on Monday, Thursday, and Friday during both lunches!

After a long year of hard-work, the MHS Fashion Society is having their 2nd annual fashion show. Come and support us on May 15th in the lobby. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 6:30pm. The price is $3 for students and $5 for adults. See you there!
